New Delhi: After some brilliant bowling performances from the Indian pacers, the batsmen made no mistakes to take away the first game from the hosts in an easy 9-wicket win on Saturday, at Harare.
KL Rahul continued his top form from IPL and went on to score his maiden century for the country in his debut match today, supported by Ambati Rayudu who played a great knock of 62 runs and became the 4th fastest Indian to score 1000 runs in ODI cricket.
Earlier in the game, Indian bowlers Jasprit Bumrah (4-28), Dhawal Kulkarni (2-42) and Barinder Sran (2-42) bowled extremely well to restrict the hosts to a mere 168 backed by Lokesh Rahul's century and Ambati Rayudu's 62.
For India, Yuzvendra Chahal, KL Rahul and Karun Nair made their ODI debut.
India came to Zimbabwe without many established names such as Virat Kohli, Rohit Sharma, Shikhar Dhawan and spinner R. Ashwin, and this win definitely will release off some pressure off the Indian skipper Dhoni's mind and boost this young team to perform better in the upcoming games.
