New Delhi: Triple World and Olympic Champion Usain Bolt gave blistering season’s best run of 9.88 seconds to win the men’s 100m at the inaugural Jamaica National Racers Grand Prix in Kingston. This is the second fastest time this year in the event and only Frenchman Jimmy Vicaut (9.86) has gone a little ahead of him.

The 100m world record holder added he was in good nick ahead of Jamaica’s Olympic trials which start on 30th June.

Bolt, running from lane four, stumbled out of the blocks but quickly recovered and charged through the middle of Powell and Blake, who were in lanes three and five, respectively.

The highly anticipated event delivered all that it promised and much more to the spectators in the almost-packed stadium. Nickel Ashmeade finished second in 9.94secs, with Blake third and Powell fourth.
