New Delhi: Lionel Messi was once again in his top flight against USA in the semi-final of Copa America Centenario. He netted an amazing free kick which took him past the record of Gabriel Batistuta’s 54 goals for Argentina, making Messi the top goal scorer for Argentina.

The Barca magician Lionel Messi scored a brilliant free kick against USA in the 32nd minute of the game to become the all-time highest goal scorer for his country with a total of 55 goals in his pocket.

The Barcelona star curled in a barely-credible set-piece effort to double Argentina’s lead and sent them to a second Copa America final in 12 months. The goal puts Argentina 2-0 ahead in the contest after Ezequiel Lavezzi opened the scoring inside three minutes, with Messi creating the goal.

Argentina is seeking to end its 23-year trophy drought at the tournament, and Messi’s skills and tactics are surely a big advantage for Gerardo Martino’s men.
