Sania Mirza gives fitting reply to Rajdeep Sardesai on being asked about 'settling down'

New Delhi: Tennis star Sania Mirza while speaking on her book 'Ace Against Odds' on national TV, gave a smashing reply to TV presenter/journalist Rajdeep Sardesai when he asked her when she was "going to settle down".
On Wednesday, Rajdeep Sardesai while discussing Sania's book, on national TV asked her: "Amidst all the celebrityhood, when is Sania going to settle down? ... What about motherhood? Building a family? I don't see that in the book. It seems like you don't want to retire yet to settle down."
The question didn't go down well with Sania and she decided it needed a fitting reply.
This was the Indian tennis star's fiery response: "You sound disappointed that I'm not actually choosing motherhood over being number one in the world at this point of time. But I'll answer your question anyway, that's the question I face all the time as a woman, that one of the question as women we have to face - the first is marriage and then it's motherhood. Unfortunately that's when we're settled, and no matter how many Wimbledons we win or number ones in the world we become, we're not settled. But eventually, it will happen, not right now."
No sooner had Sania finished with her reply, Rajdeep realised his 'mistake' and apologised to the tennis queen admitting that he would never have asked the same question to a male athlete.
"I framed that question very badly," Sardesai said, expressing regret to which Sania said, "I'm so glad, you're the first journalist to apologise to me on national television."
Sports star Sania Mirza on July 13 launched her autobiography titled 'Ace Against Odds'. The book was launched by none other than Bollywood star Shah Rukh Khan, in Hyderabad.

Tight slap on Rajdeep's face

It's time this controversial reporter retires from active journalism & focuses on his political career. The likes of his ilk from NDTV & other mainstream media have done immense damage to our Country by following the agenda of Congress & it's ruling elite for their personal gain. His interviews most of the times are more of self glorification.,Lack of proper inputs & research. His stint at CNBC was a complete failure. He will repeat a similar performance at India today if given a free hand. His subjective reporting needs to be replaced with objective reporting
