New Delhi: Indian boxing fame Vijender Singh was up against Kerry Hope to claim the World Boxing Organisation Asia Pacific super middleweight belt on Saturday and he has bagged the title after defeating his Australian rival.

This was Vijender's first at home and seventh professional boxing bout.
"I can't wait for the bout. I am fighting in Delhi after six years. Commonwealth Games was the last time and I am very excited," Vijender Singh said before the match started.
The boxing bout was held at Delhi's Thyagraj Sports Complex. Vijender Singh looked exhausted after the ninth bout and it seemed that the boxer had underestimated the Aussie blood, but by the end of the round Vijender Singh proved that he has Indian blood.
