New Delhi: NewsX on Sunday officially flagged off the ‘The Great India Run’ from India Gate in New Delhi to promote the culture of running in India and to motivate Indian athletes for the upcoming Rio Olympics.

Organised by NewsX and Pro Sportify, the event was attended by prominent figures like Minister of Home Affairs Kiren Rijiju, Minister of Youth Affairs and Sports Vijay Goel, Managing Director of NewsX Kartikeya Sharma, Olympian Anju Bobby George, celebrity Gul Panag and other prominent personalities.

 

 

The first multi-city ultra marathon will see 12 elite marathoners traversing through six states, 2 Indian landmarks and cover a distance of 1,480 kms from Delhi to Mumbai in 21 days. The runners will be attempting to break a world record.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

On an average, the runners will be running 80 km a day and will most likely be starting at 6 am every morning.
