New Delhi: NewsX – Pro Sportify ‘The Great India Run’ entered into the 9th day, the elite marathoners today reached theCity of Lakes, Udaipur. Marathoners started their journey for the day from Nathdwara and reached Udaipur at the end of the day thereby covering 48 kms.
Karnam Malleswari, retired Indian weightlifter and Olympian said, “The journey from Delhi to Mumbai goes through a lot of villages and small towns so NewsX-Pro Sportify ‘The Great India Run’ with international and national marathoners participating with full enthusiasm will spread a message about Olympics.” She also added that this will motivate many to participate in various sports activities at a professional level and many would be inclined towards sports just to keep themselves fit.
‘’Every day it becomes harder for us to see these people running each day but for the participants the run is becoming easier with every passing day as there is lesser distance to be covered for the next day’’, Anshuman Gaekwad, former Indian cricket coach said.
NewsX-Pro Sportify ‘The Great India Run’ is a cross-country run which is witnessing 18 Indian and many international runners participating in a bid to create a new record for the fastest time, covering a distance of 1,480 kms.
On an average, the runners have been running 80 km a day, starting from 6 am every morning.
