New Delhi: The marathoners participating in NewsX-Pro Sportify ‘The Great India Run’ have completed 1171 kms.
The second leg of the runners led by Ironman Milind Soman started their day at 6:30 am amidst heavy downpour. However, rains refused to dampen spirits of runners who continued their journey and reached Chikhli.
Meanwhile, the first leg also began its journey amidst rain and reached Vapi by the end of the day after covering 80 kms.
Former supermodel Milind soman who is running barefoot from Ahmedabad to Mumbai shared his experience at the run with NewsX , “This is perfect weather for running and we are enjoying our journey “, he said.
Weather must have been rejuvenating for runners as there is less chance of fatigue in such weather, former Asian Marathon champion, Sunita Godara said.
Vice-President of Asian Paralympic Committee Rajesh Tomar showered praises on ‘The Great India Run’ . “The run is not only promoting running but also the paralympians who are badly in need of such exposure”, he said.
NewsX-Pro Sportify ‘The Great India Run’ is a cross-country run which is witnessing the participation of 18 Indian and many international runners in a bid to create a new record for the fastest time, covering a distance of 1,480 kms in just 21 days.
