New Delhi: Left-handed Sri Lankan bowler Rangana Herath had a blast against Australia at Galle when he consecutively dismissed Adam Voges, Peter Nevill and Mitchell Starc in the second Test match between the two countries.
After claiming the hat-trick, Herath became the second Sri Lankan bowler to achieve this magnificent feat.
In the second game, Sri Lanka had registered a score of 281 on day 1 with all the home players being taken out the field. Australia started off with a good form as David Warner's aggressive batting stacked some important tally for the Australians, until he was taken out by Dilruwan Perera.
Come the second day when the force shifted towards Lanka's side where the left-handed spinner first sent Captain Steve Smith back to the podium early. It was during the 25th over of the inning when Herath etched his name in history.
Rangana Herath, who is 38 years of age, is the second Sri Lankan bowler after Nuwan Zoysa to claim a Test hat-trick.
