New Delhi: With the official commencement of Rio Olympics so close, discrepancies for athletes are increasing every day. One such example was Indian tennis ace Leander Paes, who is yet to receive a room in the Olympic Games village in Rio de Janeiro, the Brazil capital.
Saying that he was disappointed with the treatment meted out to him, Paes reported that he had to change in the Chef De Mission Rakesh Gupta's room.
"I am slightly disappointed that having played six Olympics for India, I haven't been given a place to stay. I was playing a tournament in New York and took the first flight on its completion. The match got over at 8 and took a 10.45 flight to Rio," Leander said.
Leander Paes' coach Zeeshan Ali supported Leander Paes and said that the tennis star had never refused himself a room at the Rio Olympic games village.
Earlier, the Indian hockey team also suffered disappointment when they complained of lack of essential facilities. Indian team coach Roelant Oltmans also said that the apartments of the players were not properly furnished.
