Jesse Lingard opened the scoring in 32nd minute for United but Vardy neutralized the lead soon

London: New recruit as the number 9 for Manchester United Football Club beat Wes Morgan to head one past the Leicester City goalie Kasper Schmeichel and put the Red Devils in the driving seat in the 83rd minute of the 2016 FA Community Shield match.

Jesse Lingard opened the scoring in 32nd minute for Manchester United but the lead was neutralized seven minutes into the second half when a horror back pass by Marouane Fellaini found Leicester’s ace striker Jamie Vardy who then got the better of United’s flying savior David de Gea.

It was Valencia’s accuracy that found Ibrahimovic at the far post who made no mistake in putting Jose Mourinho’s team in the lead.

A minute after the former PSG striker celebrated to a roaring audience, Leicester’s Musa had a super chance with a back header which he looped over the bar. Riyad Mahrez then missed a golden opportunity two minutes later when he messed up Schlupp's cross.

The 2016 FA Community Shield is Manchester United’s 21st title in 31 appearances. Leicester, on the other hand, played in a Community Shield match back in 1971 when they had won the English Premier League and defeated Liverpool 1-0 to win the Shield.
