Dipa Karmakar, Olympic dreams, Women’s archery team, Heena Sidhu

NewsX brings you its special coverage of the Rio Olympics 2016. The second day of India's Olympic campaign had its share of disappointments after failing to make any impact on day one. While India's Women archery team lost out to the Russians in the quarterfinals to exit the Games, shooter Heena Sidhu too failed to impress as she exited from the qualifiers of 10m air pistol event.
India’s hopes of a medal in the men’s trap shooting event were dealt with severe blows as Kynan Chenai and Manavjit Sandhu finished the first day of qualifiers way behind the top six. But the star for India remained Dipa Karmakar who became the first Indian to enter a final at the Olympics in artistic gymnastics.
