JOHANNESBERG: Left-arm spinner Raza Hasan was banned for two years on Monday after he failed a dope test in a domestic competition.

Hasan is not eligible to participate in cricket or any activity organised by PCB during his ban, said Pakistan Cricket Board (PCB) in a statement.

Earlier, during the Pentangular one-day cup 2015 in Karachi, PCB had conducted dope tests and the sample collected from Hasan was subsequently analysed at a World Anti-Doping Agency accredited laboratory. The results were sent to the PCB, who then banned Hasan for two years on the basis of their anti-doping rules.

The 22-year-old Hasan made his debut in September 2012 and has played 10 Twenty20 matches for Pakistan.
