Athlete Sudha Singh tests positive for H1N1, negative for Zika virus

New Delhi: Athlete Sudha Singh who was returned from the Rio Olympics unwell, tested positive for H1N1 virus but negative for Zika virus, according to Fortis hospital doctors.

She will be kept in isolation for seven days at the hospital in Bengaluru.

The 30-year-old athlete from Bareilly had participated in the Women's 3000m steeplechase category in Rio.

Sudha finished ninth, clocking 9 minutes 43.29 seconds in the Round 1 Heat 3 at the Olympic Stadium.

She came back to India from Rio with fever and body ache last week and was admitted to the hospital for a suspected Zika Virus.
