New Delhi: It seems Arsenal has finally struck the right chord with Valencia regarding the transfer of defender Skhodran Mustafi into their squad. The German defender has been agreed upon by Arsenal and Valencia both on a transfer sum of £35 million, £15 million less than what Valencia had initially aimed for.
Not only Mustafi, Arsenal has signed Deportivo striker Lucas Perez into their fold for £15 million. With the summer transfer window closing soon, manager Arsene Wenger is under a lot of pressure to upgrade his squad, especially pertaining defender Mertesacker who has been riddled with injuries.
The Gunners had initially hoped for a £25 million deal with Valencia. The 24-year-old defender is all set for a medical before signing the official terms with the English club.
Everton had initially expressed interest in Mustafi who has now finally been roped in by Arsene Wenger to solidify his team's defence for the upcoming football season.
