New Delhi: Indian wrestler Yogeshwar Dutt on Wednesday took to Twitter to comment on his London Olympics medal upgradation. He wrote on his Twitter account that Besik Kudukhov's failing dope test was unfortunate but as a wrestler, he respects him.

“Besik Kudukhov was a great wrestler. His failing the dope test after his death is really unfortunate. As a wrestler, I respect him”, Yogeshwar Dutt wrote on Twitter.

The unexpected upgrade came after the late Olympic medallist Besik Kudukhov was stripped off his silver medal in the 60kg freestyle category at the London Games..

Yogeshwar Dutt on Wednesday said that he wanted Besik’s family to keep the medal.

“If possible, let the medal be with Besik’s family. It would keep his family’s honour intact. For me, humanity is above everything,” read another tweet.

The Russian athlete Besik died in a car crash in 2013, just a year after the London Olympics.

Yogeshwar, after getting the news of medal elevation, said that he dedicates his silver medal to the country.

"I got to know this morning (Monday) that my bronze medal is getting upgraded to silver medal. I dedicate this medal to all my countrymen also," he had tweeted on Tuesday.
