Rio de Janeiro: Despite the backlash at Rio Olympics, the much talked about junket continues in Paralympics as well. A total of 18 Indian officials have travelled to Rio for the sporting event.
India has sent a 19-member contingent to the Games, accompanied by 18 officials, which is in violation of regulations as maximum of 11 officials are permitted for a 20-member contingent.
Earlier, Haryana government had faced a lot of flak for sending a 9-member delegation to the Olympics at the expense of around Rs one crore of tax-payers' money.
