New York: The new World No. 1 tennis player Angelique Kerber defeated Denmark's Caroline Wozniacki by 6-4, 6-3 on Friday to enter US Open 2016 finals.

Former World No.1 Wozniacki who made a comeback to the tennis circuit after recovering from an ankle injury, looked totally out of form in the match losing to Kerber in straight sets.

The Olympic silver-medallist, Kerber will now clash with Czech Republic's Karolina Pilskova who caused an upset by beating Serena Williams in the semis.
