Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav congratulated Varun Bhati on his achievement and also announced the cash reward.

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh government on Monday announced a cash reward of Rs. 1 crore for Varun Bhati who bagged a bronze medal in High Jump event at Rio Paralympics 2016.

In an official statement, Chief Minister Akhilesh Yadav congratulated Varun Bhati on his achievement and also announced the cash reward.

"The hard work and dedication, Varun Bhati has put up a great show and achieved this feet earning honour for the country and the state," CM Akhilesh Yadav said, adding that his achievement will prove to be an encouragement for the "devyangs" (differently abled).
