New Delhi: In a major blow to India, pacer Ishant Sharma on Tuesday was ruled out of the first Test against New Zealand in Kanpur due to Chikungunya.
The news was confirmed by Indian coach Anil Kumble while addressing a press conference. Kumble also added that team has not asked for a replacement for Sharma yet.

India will take on New Zealand in first test in Kanpur’s Green Park on Thursday. Huge arrangements have been made by BCCI for the match as it will be Indian Cricket team’s 500th Test match.
