New Delhi: The U-18 Indian Hockey team on Thursday defeated Pakistan with a 3-1 score in the ongoing Under-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament.
The lead in the match was taken by India in the seventh minute when Shivam Anand struck a goal. The second goal was hit by Dilpreet Singh that helped the team lead in the 32nd minute with 2-0.
In the second half of the game the similar trend continued as India continued their dominance and scored their third goal struck by Nilam Sanjeep Xess.
In the last 10 minutes of the second half of the match, Pakistan however managed a solitary goal to console themselves of a goaless loss. This lone goal was stroked by Ajmad Ali Khan and the game ended with the score line 3-1.
India will next play with hosts Bangladesh in the final of the Under-18 Asia Cup hockey tournament that will be played on September 30.
Indian midfielder Kunwardilraj Singh received the Man-of-the-Match award for his fabulous performance.
