Spain: Valencia’s Brazilian goalkeeper Diego Alves said he is proud of being part of the history of the Spanish football league, as he holds the Liga record for the maximum penalty saves.
Alves said it is a dream to be part of La Liga history at 31, after a ten-year career. The Brazilian goalkeeper saved 17 penalties out of 39 in the Spanish league, including 10 out of 25 with Valencia, reports Efe.
Alves stressed that he wants to stay at Valencia despite rumours of his departure last summer.
According to Valencia’s official website, the goalkeeper explained that he has a contract with the Spanish club and wants to play his best with Valencia.
