India beat New Zealand by 178 runs in Kolkata Test, reach No.1 spot in ICC rankings

Kolkata: India beat New Zealand by 178 runs in the second test at Eden Gardens on Monday. With this victory, India took an unassailable lead in the three-match series and also became No. 1 team in the ICC rankings removing Pakistan from the top spot. 
Chasing a score of 376 in the second innings, New Zealand got off to a good start. However, they could not keep up the momentum and were all-out for 197 runs. Wriddhiman Saha was elected Man of the Match for his unbeaten knocks of 54 and 58.
Earlier, India scored 263 runs in their second innings giving New Zealand a target of 376 runs to clinch the match. 

India are up by 1-0 in the three-match series. They had earilier beaten New Zealand by 197 runs in the first Test at Green Park in Kanpur.  

Kohli-led team will now take on New Zealand in third and last Test at Indore.
