R. Ashwin produced an excellent bowling performance to give India the upper hand at tea on day 3

Indore: Star off-spinner Ravichandran Ashwin produced an excellent bowling performance to help bundle up New Zealand for 299 runs in the first innings on Day Three of the third Test  at the Holkar Cricket Stadium here on Monday. 
 
Ashwin picked up 6 wickets giving away only 81 runs for his 20th five-wicket haul in Test matches. India are now leading New Zealand by 258 runs after the first innings. 
 
Earlier on Day 2, India had declared their first innings at 557/5 with the help of skipper Virat Kohli's ton and his deputy Rahane's 188 runs.
