New Delhi: Liverpool were looking to consolidate their stomp in the Premier League with a hard-fought win against Manchester United, until they realised that Manchester United were aiming to fulfil the same objective.

On Monday, Jurgen Klopp's men tried their best to penetrate the Manchester United wall, only to be resisted by goalkeeper David De Gea who swung in and out to ensure that the ball didn't escape his clutches.

A solid defending from Manchester United's Ander Herrera and Marouane Fellaini checked in the offense and stopped it short whenever it mattered. And United, sweeping the Premier League fiercely with recent wins, missed some clear chances.

Swedish striker Zlatan Ibrahimovic probably had the best chance of registering a tally in the game, but his clear header went wasteful after he headed the ball away from the post.

Wayne Rooney was unleashed in the stadium with 13 minutes left by Jose Mourinho, but the captain could not manoeuvre himself to a goal for Manchester United.

However, Manchester United fans are displeased at Paul Pogba as they claim that the striker has remained ineffective as of now.
