New Delhi: Chasing a total of 243 runs against New Zealand in the second One Day Internation (ODI) being played at Feroze Shah Kotla stadium in New Delhi on Thursday, India lost the match by 6 runs.
Not getting a good start to chase a mere total of just 243 runs, Indian team kept losing wickets at regular intervals.
However, riding on Ajinkya Rahane’s 28 off 49, MS Dhoni’s 39 off 65 and Kedar Jadhav’s 41 off 37, India was close to the target but the continuous fall of wickets cost the team a loss in this match.
Hardik Pandya played a fine inning and scored 36 off 32 balls, but failed to sail the team to a victory.
Earlier, batting first after losing the toss, New Zealand managed a total of 242 runs in 50 overs.
Indian captain MS Dhoni had won the toss and elected to field first.
The Indian squad in today’s match remained the same as the first match. On the other hand, New Zealand had made three changes in their squad that of getting Matt Henry and Trent Boult back to bolster their pace attack.
