New Delhi: MSK Prasad led selection panel on Wednesday met at the Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) headquarters in Mumbai to pick the Indian squad for the upcoming five-match Test series against England starting in November 9 in Rajkot.

Gautam Gambhir, who made a half century in the second innings in Indore, has been included along with rookie Rahul Sharma.

After India thrashed New Zealand 3-0 in the recently concluded series, the selection committee didn’t have too many surprises.

However, Prasad said that Sharma might also have to undergo surgery as he had a bad injury.

Indian team for first two Tests against England:

Virat Kohli, Vijay, Ajinkya Rahane Ishant Sharma, Mohammed Shami, Gautam Gambhir, Ravichandran Ashwin, Ravindra Jadeja, Jayant Yadav, Hardik Pandya, Umesh Yadav, Karun Nair, Amit Mishra, Wriddhiman Saha, Cheteshwar Pujara.
