New Delhi: England key player and Manchester United striker Wayne Rooney has been ruled out of the game against Spain on Tuesday night after the player suffered a knee injury.

The captain of Manchester United was nowhere to be seen on the training ground on Monday due to a ‘minor issue’. So instead of going head on against La Roja at Wembley, Rooney will be returning to Old Trafford.

Rooney’s performance has been criticised of late in his team as Manchester United went under debilitating defeats repeatedly. Rooney was even dropped out by Jose Mourinho who emphasised focus on the attack in formation.

Manchester United will be facing Arsenal this weekend and it remains to be seen whether he will be playing in the game or not.
