After witnessing an absolute forgettable season in their Indian Premier League (IPL) debut last year, Rising Pune Supergiants have decided to remove MS Dhoni from captaincy just two days prior to the auction.

According to reports, Australian skipper Steve Smith will be replacing India’s most successful captain for the upcoming 10th season of the league.

Although the change in captaincy has not been officially confirmed by any of the parties but based on latest reports Dhoni has extended his full support towards this decision.

Last year Pune replaced the Chennai Super Kings in the IPL after they were suspended and came seventh in their debut season.

Under his reign, Supergiants only grabbed 10 points by finishing above last placed Kings X1 Punjab.

The 35-year-old recently handed India’s limited-overs captaincy honour to Virat Kohli in all three formats of the game.

The decision might turn out to be a shocker for all cricketing fans but we can also expect the Indian veteran to fully concentrate on his hard hitting batting style and be a stand out player in the upcoming season.
