Indian shooter Pooja Ghatkar, on Friday, brought laurels to the nation by winning a bronze medal at Women’s Air Rifle at ISSF Shooting World Cup, in New Delhi.
Pooja finished third with a total score of 228.8 in the 10m Air Rifle event dominated by the Chinese shooters Mengyao Shi (gold medal) and Dong Lijie (silver medal).
China’s Mengyao Shi took the lead on the podium with a score of 252.1, followed by Lijie Dong with a total of 228.8 points.
This is Pooja’s first World Cup medal; she is also the reigning Asian champion in 10m air rifle event.
The National Rifle Association of India (NRAI) had placed its bet on Pooja Ghatkar, who has been giving good performances in 10m air rifle in the recent times.
