A highly contested English Premier League (EPL) match between Manchester City and Liverpool on Sunday ended in a 1-1 draw, as both the teams managed to salvage a point each at the Etihad Stadium.
The game got off to a cracking start with Sadio Mane of Liverpool and Leroy Sane of Manchester City wreaking havoc at the opposite sides of the pitch.
Although the first half of the game yielded no goal from any side but a plethora of chances were created in the electrifying half by the footballing giants vying to book a Champions League spot for the next season.
A controversial penalty was awarded to Liverpool in the 51st minute of the game when Man City’s Gael Clichy tripped Roberto Firmino in the penalty box. James Milner stepped up to the chance and superbly converted the penalty, drawing the first blood for the visitors.
The decision of moving Kevin de Bruyne to the wide position paid off for the hosts as he laid off a fine low-cross to Sergio Aguero which the Argentine tapped into the goal, bringing score to the level.
Both Jurgen Klopp and Pep Guardiola fielded their strongest squads as the match ended in an exhilarating draw.
Liverpool now lies at 4th spot, just 1 point behind 3rd placed Manchester City in the EPL table.
