Sir Alex Ferguson will return to the Old Trafford dugout to manage the Manchester United squad for Michael Carrick’s testimonial match which is to be played on June 4.
The legendary manager hung his boots in 2013 after delivering United’s 20th English Premier League title and his 38th in total.
The match has been scheduled in honour of Man United’s long serving midfielder, Michael Carrick. Sir Alex will take charge of Manchester United 2008 XI while Harry Redknapp will manage the Michael Carrick All-Star XI.
United’s Ferguson-led side of 2008 is still affectionately remembered among the fans due to their incredible achievements that year as they reigned supreme in both the English football division as well as the top European club competition.
Many footballing legends like Paul Scholes, Ryan Giggs, Frank Lampard and Steven Gerrard are reported to take part in the testimonial match.
