The hunt of India Team’s coach has finally ended as Board of Control for Cricket in India’s (BCCI) Cricket Advisory Committee (CAC) appointed Ravi Shastri as the head coach. The selection came in after a long process of discussions with head officials of BCCI.
The hunt for the new coach of the team India had been making headlines after the former coach, Anil Kumble stepped down as the coach for the team.
Following the spat between the coach Kumble and skipper Kohli, the ace spinner had stepped down from the post.
As per sources, skipper Kohli had been facing differences with Kumble. The differences were also being linked to the massive defeat which was faced by Team Indian in Champions Trophy against Pakistan.
Shastri’s first assignment with the team will be the upcoming Sri Lanka tour, where the first Test starts on July 26.
Ravishankar Jayadritha Shastri the new team India coach was also a former Director for the Indian cricket team. He has represented the Indian national team in both Test and One-Day matches between 1981 and 1992.
