Indian Discuss thrower Karamjyoti Dalal bagged a Bronze medal at World Para Athletics Championships to extend India’s medal tally to three.

Dalal belongs to Haryana and was an active member of Indian national kabaddi team before she was forced to leave the sport due to a mishap when she fell from her terrace.

Dalal won the medal in the F55 category, with her best throw of 19.02m outscoring Baharain’s Alomari Roba, who managed a throw of 19.01m.

The para-athelete from Haryana took up Discuss throw only in 2014, and since has never looked back. From being unrecognized to feature in the list of World’s best, she has come a long way.

Earlier in the competition India has earned two medals in form of Sundar Gurjar’s gold in men’s javelin throw and Amit Saroha’s silver in men’s club Discuss throw F51 event.
