HS Prannoy defeated his Indian counterpart Parupalli Kashyap 21-15, 20-22, 21-12 in the finals of US Open Grand Prix Gold to clinch his third Grand Prix title.
It was an all Indian summit clash for the third time in various competitions this year, and the 2nd seed Prannoy emerged victorious. For Prannoy it has been a mixed season, the Kerala shuttler lost closely in the semifinals of Indonesia Open Superseries beating Lee Chong wei in the run.

For Kashyap it was a strong return from injury, he played his last final in the 2015 Syed Modi Grand Prix Gold, which he won.

Prannoy was a dominant force in the finals outclassing the 56th ranked kashyap with his aggressive game play.
In all competitions this is the third Grand Prix Gold title for India in 2017.
