Former boxing heavy weight champion Mike Tyson has given his verdict on the big fight between Conor ‘The Notorious’ McGregor and Floyd Mayweather. Tyson believes McGregor “doesn’t stand a chance against the 15 time world champion Mayweather”.

In an interview with Barstol Sports’ “Pardon My Take,” Tyson favoured the American over McGregor. He said “McGregor is going to get killed boxing.” According to Tyson, McGregor has “made a mistake by choosing to fight a boxer” who is unbeaten in his last 49 fights and has been rated as one of the best in the world.

Tyson said, “McGregor is going to get killed in boxing. I got mad because I thought they were going to use MMA rules against boxing because that’s what it’s all about: Can the boxer beat the MMA guy? He’s going to get knocked out because this guy’s been doing this all his life since he was a baby. Conor can’t kick and grab and stuff so he won’t stand much of a chance.”

“McGregor took the biggest sucker rules in the history of boxing,” Tyson added.

Tyson said that if he fought McGregor, 29, he would have allowed him to use his legs.

The fight will be a light middleweight boxing contest with all the standard boxing bout rules, which will limit McGregor to only his hands and upper body.

40-year old Mayweather has retired but will make a comeback to battle against the Irish MMA star at the T-Mobile Arena in Las Vegas on August 26.
