Paris Saint-Germain’s ambition attracted me to the club, along with the passion and the energy this brings.”

“I played 4 seasons in Europe and I feel ready to take the challenge. From today, I will do everything I can to help my new teammates, to open up new horizons for my club and to bring happiness to its millions of supporters around the world.” Neymar is likely to make his debut for his new club against Amiens in the French top tier.

Ahead of the move, the Barca star didn’t forget to thanks his former team mates and fans, he took to Instagram to share an emotional video of his journey throughout at the Camp-nou, he said it was an honour for him to share the dressing room with legends like Messi, Iniesta and Puyol. He thanked Messi for his support during Barcelona reign and mentioned he and Messi are best friends in and out of the field; he also credited Messi as the best footballer he has ever come across and said there cannot be any other Messi.

Neymar also thanked his family; friends and fans who supported him during the good and bad times of his career. Here is the video:

He vivido momentos inolvidables! @psg , J'arrive! Que Dios nos bendiga y nos proteja!

Neymar who arrived at Barca from Santos in 2013, has since went on to win 2 La Liga and one Champions League title with the Catalan club. He alongside Messi and Suarez formed the most deadly attacking trio which destroyed every defence line in style.

Not only did he do well at Barca, since his debut for Brazil national side, Neymar has played a talisman role in retaining Brazil’s lost glory. He made his international debut in yellow at a mere age of 18 and has since netted 52 goals in 77 appearances for Brazil.  Neymar still holds the record of highest goal scorer of his former club Santos, he scored 138 goals in 229 matches for the Brazilian club.

This certainly is a big blow for Barcelona, who have lost a gem in form of Neymar and can suffer in La Liga as well as the Champions League, Whereas for PSG it’s their chance of claiming their first Champions League glory. With the likes of Marco Verrati, Dani Alves, Angel Di Maria in the squad they are now one of the strongest contenders for the highest European Honour.
