Former Formula One World Champion Kimi Raikkonen will drive for Ferrari for another season after the Italian outfit announced a contract renewal on Tuesday.

The ‘Ice Man’ will partner Sebastain Vettel until the upcoming FIA Formula One World Championships in what will be his 5th consecutive season with Ferrari.

“Ferrari announces that Scuderia Ferrari has renewed its technical and racing agreement with Kimi Raikkonen. The Finnish driver will therefore race for the Maranello team in the 2018 Formula One World Championship,” read a statement released by the Formula 1 outfit on their official website.

Kimi Raikkonen’s stay would most certainly pave way for a longer contract extension for Sebastian Vettel as the two drivers share a strong bond between each other and have formed a formidable partnership at the heart of the club.

Riakkonen has a total 20 F1 career titles under his name, with 9 of them coming at Ferrari. The Finn stands fifth in the Championship rankings with his team-mate Vettel standing 14 points clear off Lewis Hamilton at the top spot.
