The FIFA Under 17 World Cup is now less than a month away with  India gearing up to host the biggest ever football tournament. It will be the first time when India will host a football World Cup also it will mark India’s maiden participation in a World Cup event.

Ahead of the extravaganza, the football fanatics in the country are ready to witness the under-17 boys go up against some of the best young sides in world football.

The coveted FIFA trophy for which countries from around the world will come to India and battle was today unveiled at the Oberoi mall in Mumbai in a spectacular event organised by Bank of Baroda who are national support partners of the organisers. The ‘FIFA Trophy Experience’ India saw immense excitement from fans around the city who came forward to show their support for the Blue Tigers.

The trophy was showcased for the fans who dropped in large numbers. School students, actors, and several young and old football enthusiasts were present at the mega unveiling ceremony. Kheleo, the official FIFA Under-17 World Cup mascot was also present at the event where he played some football with the kids.

Earlier during the Trophy Experience launch in Delhi thousands of children along with various Government of India officials came together at the Major Dhyan Chand Stadium to celebrate the unveiling.

Several sports stars and Bollywood stars including the likes of PV Sindhu, Kidambi Srikanth, Sonu Sood and Bhaichung Bhutia have also expressed their support for the Indian contingent by taking the ‘Juggle like a champ’ challenge.

The Indian Under-17 side will kick off their World Cup campaign against USA on 6th October followed by a game against Colombia on 14th October and a final clash against Ghana on 25th.Their performance in these 3 games will decide the country’s progress further into the competition.

A total of 52 games will be played in the World Cup to decide the ultimate Under-17 football champion.
