Germany’s star Goalkeeper Manuel Neuer has been sidelined until January, 2018 after a surgery of the metatarsal in his left foot which he fractured during training with the club.

The injury has been suspected to be lethal and has put Neuer’s availability for this whole year in soup.

Amid the critical phase, someone special has sent a message to the 31-year-old Bayer Munich goalkeeper which most certainly would have left a smile on his face. Juventus legend and one of Neuer’s closest rival in the bracket of world’s best goalkeepers Gianluigi Buffon took to twitter to post a heartfelt message for his counterpart.

“Good luck Manuel Neuer, I want to see you on the field as soon as possible,” the Italian wrote in a post dedicated to his fiercest rival and one of his closest friend.

Buffon with his classy message won hearts of several football fans across the world who applauded his kind gesture. The 39-year-old is one of the few footballers who is admired by everyone including his competitors.

On the German’s recovery, Bayern Munich chairman Karl-Heinz Rummenigge said “The operation went perfectly, which is the most important thing for now,”

“We are now looking to the future. Manuel will be back to his previous best and available in January.”

Neuer’s injury has come as a big blow to the Bundesliga champions who have several important clashes lined up in both their home league and Champions League.
