Master Blaster Sachin Tendulkar has long retired and called it quits to all formats but his only presence in the dugout and a few words of inspiration from the man himself who carried India to several triumphs throughout his career. Sachin recently met Indian batsman Ajinkya Rahane at the nets in Mumbai and advised him to focus on his game and not worry about opportunities as they will flow in with results.

To be very precise, Rahane is currently into a struggling phase in his career and has not seen his best days with the bat for quite some time now. The right-handed batsman is one of the most technically sound batsman in the current Indian side and has performed for the team in almost every format of the game. But the Maharastra cricketer has struggled to keep his place in the Indian team with the Men in Blue opting for more attacking batsman in the line up.

He is currently in the Indian side for the Australian series and has played both the ODIs so far, scoring 60 runs with an average of 30. He also registered a half century in the second ODI.

During the pre-match Press Conference in Kolkata, Rahane revealed he met Tendulkar and the two cricketing greats had an interaction about his game.

“For four days, I did nets at the Bandra Kurla Complex. When I met him (Sachin Tendulkar), he said, “back your game. You will get opportunities sometimes and sometimes you won’t. What’s in your hands is your preparation. You should have right mindset. He did not say anything about my technique but spoke only on the mental aspect,” Rahane said at the press conference.

He had also shared a post on Instagram reflecting of the day he met Sachin and wrote, “Had a great net session. Thank you so much for your time and inspiring words paaji @Sachin_rt”

To which, Sachin had responded and wished him luck for the ongoing Australia series.

“It’s always a pleasure to see you perform well for the country. My best wishes for the upcoming series!”, wrote Sachin.

Ajinkya Rahane is undoubtedly the most integral member of that powerful Indian batting line-up topped with the vast experience he brings to the side he is and can be a match winner for India in any big game.
