Chennai: Paramveer Singh Bajwa and Rian Pandole entered the final of the boys under-18 singles final in the YMCA-TTT ITF junior tennis tournament here on Friday with contrasting victories.
Bajwa dropped the first set before overcoming Abhinav Sanjeev 4-6, 6-4, 6-3, while Pandole accounted for fifth seed Ishaq Iqbal 6-3, 6-1.
In the girls U-18 semi-finals, top seed Zeel Desai edged past Lalita Devarkonda 6-2, 4-6, 7-5, and Shivani Amineni eased past second seed Sathwika Sama 6-4, 4-1, with the latter conceding the match in the second set.
Boys U-18 singles (semi-finals): 6-Paramveer Singh Bajwa bt Abhinav Sanjeev 4-6, 6-4, 6-3; 7-Rian Pandole bt 5-Ishaq Iqbal 6-3, 6-1.
Girls U-18 singles (semi-finals): 1-Zeel Desai bt 9-Lalita Devarakonda 6-2, 4-6, 7-5; 6-Shivani Amineni bt 2-Sathwika Sama 6-4, 4-1 (conceded).
Boys U-18 doubles (final): 5-Sahil Deshmukh / Alex Solanki bt 3-Paramveer Singh Bajwa / Param Pun 6-7(3), 6-3, 11-9.
Girls U-18 doubles (final): 1-Sathwika Sama / Shivani Swarup Ingle bt Shivani Amineni / Humera Begum Shaik 6-1, 6-2.
