Former Indian cricketer Rahul Dravid has said that Mahendra Singh Dhoni’s return to Chennai Super Kings (CSK) in the upcoming edition of Indian Premier League (IPL) will be a huge boost for the franchise and people of Chennai, who love to see him in action for their side. “The people of Chennai really love Dhoni and they will be very excited to get him back in the team and hopefully they will see Dhoni on the streets of Chennai again,” he said.
The former captain also shared his thoughts on air pollution of Delhi that had sparked a massive controversy with Lankan players complaining about the poor air quality in the capital during the third Test in Feroz Shah Kotla Stadium of Delhi. “Thankfully we have no air pollution in Bengaluru so we are very happy. But yes, people do find it difficult in such conditions,” he said.
Dravid expressed confidence that Indian team will be able to defeat South Africa on their own soil as the line-up was quite balanced. “We have selected one of the best team for South Africa tour. I agree with selector MSK Prasad that we have a balanced side and I am sure we will beat proteas in their own country,” he said. Showering praises on Indian skipper Virat Kohli, Dravid said he is a huge inspiration for junior cricketers. “Kohli has been absolutely sensational in past 18 months. I do not like comparing people, but he is one of the best batsmen in the world in all three formats of the game. I tell my boys to learn consistency from him,” the coach of India’s U-19 team said.
Team India are currently on top of the game after defeating Sri Lanka in the recently concluded Test series. The team is set to play an ODI and T20I series with Lankans before flying to South Africa for a long tour.
