The Captain of the Indian Cricket Team Mahendra Singh Dhoni on Saturday urged his team to not recall their losing line in Australia as they gear up for their opening match at the ICC Cricket World Cup against arch-rivals Pakistan.

The defending champions have gone through miserable three months on tour in Australia where they were smashed by 2-0 in the Tests and could not even win a match in the following tri-series.

However, Captain MS Dhoni who is quite positive towards the upcoming India-Pakistan match scheduled for February 15 says that the high-voltage clash is an opportunity for the team to transform themselves from zeroes to heroes.

“The course definitely is more while playing against Pakistan as the game is followed by several fans,” the recently turned father said, adding, “But I see it as a good platform for the team to perform.”

“We need to get over the past and try not making same mistakes. It has been a long summer but the positive thing is that we have adapted to the conditions and the boys are looking good,” added Dhoni.

MS Dhoni further stated, “I can also proudly announce that all 15 are fit and available for selection - unless something happens between now and tomorrow.”

Ahead of the primary encounter, the Indian Captain states that he does not need to calm down nerves as the players were used to appearing before massive crowds in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and at the time of other high-profile home games.

A huge crowd of 47, 000 at the renovated Adelaide Oval and countless fans across the globe will follow the match which according to the organizers was sold out in 20 minutes.

The Captain underplay the repeated questions of the impressive record of 5-0 at the World Cup against Pakistanstating that what matters is that how the team plays on the given day.

“All I know is that I am asked a lot of questions about the record. Look, I am not bothered about statistics because what happened in the past will count for little in what is a prized game for all.

It is nice for fans and the media to talk about it, but for us the only thing that will matter is how we play.

The important thing is to plan well and execute those plans well. I don't know if it will be an even contest. It is hard to predict such things,” he said.

From the team that bagged the World Cup four years ago, there are only four players who are playing this time namely; Virat Kohli, Suresh Raina, Ravichandran Ashwin and the Captain himself.

Commenting on the same, Dhoni said, “There have been a lot of changes in the last four years but the current team has played together for a long time and knows what is needed in pressure situations.”
