ICC World Cup 2015: Four hurt in brawl at Sydney club between India, Pakistan cricket fans

NEW DELHI/MELBOURNE: Soon after India won its first innings opposite arch rival Pakistan at the ICC World Cup 2015on Sunday with 76 runs, a brawl broke out between the fans of India and Pakistan watching the tense match on television at pub in Sydney.

The incident at the Merrylands RSL Club that involved approximately 40 people left four people seriously injured, informed police.

While three of them were taken to the Westmead Hospital, the fourth one was taken to the Auburn Hospital for the treatment.

No arrests have been made so far in the case as the police now investigate the security camera footage of the fight.

According to the reports, the game between the stern rivals was one of the most highly anticipated of the tournament, drawing an estimated global viewing audience of one billion.

CEO of Merrylands RSL Club, Bryn Miller informed that around 180 people were gathered at the club to watch the live televised match in one of the rooms of the club last night.

He said the CCTV footage shows two people started the brawl by throwing a stool before running out of the club.
