The Congress on Monday served a notice of no-confidence against the BJD-BJP government in Orissa over the killing of VHP leader Laxmanananda Saraswati
“We have given a notice of no-confidence. This House has no trust in the government,” Leader of Opposition J B Patnaik said reporters at Bhubanesswar after the House was adjourned for the dayamid uproar by both ruling BJP and opposition Congress members.
Demanding acceptance of the notice by the Speaker, Patnaik said many issues, including the "failure" of the government on all fronts would be raised during the debate.
“Worsening law and order situation, developmental activities and other issues would be discussed in the House,” the Opposition leader said.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Naveen Patnaik, said his government was ready to face the no-confidence motion in the House.
"We have no problem in facing the motion," he told reporters.
The notice for no-confidence motion came after BJP members expressed displeasure over government's failure in saving life of Saraswati who had received a threat letter.
Angry BJP members had announced plans to stall proceedings of the House till those involved in the killing of Saraswati and four others on Saturday night at an 'ashram' in Kandhamal district, were arrested.

It is atrocious, the way the news on the revered Swami's murder, along with four others, is blacked out in the media, while highliting, with spice, the reactions to it.
The visual and print media, who had months of prime time covering some murders, did not find the gruesome murder of the Swami and others 'interesting' as it did not come in line with their 'secular' taste!
Did this have no 'news value' at least? Don't any of the media persons know that an earlier attack on the Swami led to months of violent protests?
Why does not anyone in the media have no knowledge or doubt about the 'Christian hand' in the murders? Even those who reported the incident say it as the handiwork of Maoists only. Why don't anyone in the media even doubt about a nexus between the Maoists and people from the Church? We have heard of months of meticulous planning by a powerful group from the Church and that the Maoists were only possible henchmen to carry out the assassinations. Why is not the media not suspicious of the role of the district administation and police, who did nothing to prevent such an act, even after receiving a petition from the swami himself?
Why this blatant bias against the majority community, while raising a hue and cry on the 'attack on Christians'?
We are even seeing visuals of the Swami's body and the blood stained ashram premises, while what is being said is about the attack on Christians! What is the type of 'secularism' that the media is trying to project by such bias reporting?
