A month after the serial bomb blasts rocked Ahmedabad on July 26, Gujarat police claimed that they have cracked the case completely.

"The serial blasts case is 100 per cent solved. We have in our custody the brains behind the planning, design and execution of the explosions," Ashish Bhatia, Joint Commissioner of Police, who is heading the investigations said on Tuesday.

Out of those arrested, we know who got the explosives, who manufactured the bombs and who planted them in Ahmedabad and Surat,"  said Bhatia,.

The City Crime Branch which is heading the investigations into the serial blasts, which claimed 55 lives, has arrested 10 persons including the mastermind Mufti Abu Bashir.

They have also brought in SIMI chief Safdar Nagori and four others from Madhya Pradesh for further questioning.

"We are yet to arrest the computer expert Abdul Subhan alias Taufiq. His arrest will solve the email issue. There are others involved in the blasts and planting of bombs in Surat, who are yet to be arrested. But the key conspirators have been arrested and are being questioned," Bhatia said.

"Now, we are getting ready for the next step...proving the case in the court of law. We already had couple of meetings with the team of four Special Public Prosecutors (SPP) appointed for this case," he said.

"The magnitude of this case is huge and there are chances that the suspects arrested in connection with the Ahmedabad blasts are also involved in explosions cases in other city. We may ask for special sessions to expedite the proceeding in the cases," he added.

Ten men - Mufti Abu Bashir, Jahid Sheikh, Imran Sheikh, Sajid Mansuri, Iqubal Sheikh, Samsudin Sheikh, Yunus Mansuri, Gyasuddin Ansari, Arif Kadri and Usman Agarbattiwala – have been sent to police custody till August 31.

Whereas, the five men brought from Madhya Pradesh for questioning include SIMI chief Safdar Nagori, Kamruddin Nagori, Aamil Pervez, Asif Hussain and Abdul Sibli, who have been sent to police custody till September 3.

All these men, according to police, were present in SIMI training camps held in Kerala and Halol where they had planned the terror attacks in Ahmedabad.

Two hospitals - City Civil Hospital and L G Hospital in Maninagar area - were also targeted during the attacks.

The blasts at the Civil Hospital was a high intensity blast in which a combination of ammonium nitrate and gas cylinders was used to maximise the impact.

More than thirty people were killed in the blasts that took place in front of Trauma Centre of the Civil Hospital.

Two cars laden with explosives were found from Surat on the very next day of the blasts in Ahmedabad.

As many as 25 bombs were defused by the bomb squad in Surat. The bombs were found from the Varacha area of the city, mainly from places which remain crowded during the day.
