Cricket: India to tour NZ in March 2009

The Indian cricket team would play two Tests and five one-day internationals on their first tour of New Zealand in six years starting in March.

The tour would last from March 6 to April 7, 2009.

It would commence with a one-off Twenty20 international at Wellington's Westpac Stadium on March 6, a media release from the Cricket Board said.

The one-day series would precede the short Test rubber, it added. India last toured the Kiwi country in 2002-03.

Full schedule:

March 6: T20 International at Westpac Stadium, Wellington

March 8: 1st ODI at McLean Park, Napier (Day/night)

March 11: 2nd ODI at Seddon Park, Haminton (Day/night)

March 14: 3rd ODI at Eden Park, Auckland (Day/night)

March 17: 4th ODI at Westpac Stadium, Wellington (Day/night)

March 20: 5th and final ODI AMI Stadium, Christchurch (Day/night).

March 22-24: v New Zealand XI at Bert Sutcliffe Oval, Lincoln University

March 26-30: 1st Test, Seddon Park, Hamilton

April 3-7: 2nd Test, Basin Reserve, Wellington.
