Kolkata / Press Trust of India

Bengal players and cricket lovers on Wednesday came out in large numbers and wished 'Dada' on the eve of Sourav Ganguly's swansong Test in Nagpur.

A tableau, Alvida Dada (Farewell Dada), on Thursday began its journey from Ganguly's home at Behala before winding its way to Eden Gardens where Bengal cricketers, including captain Laxmi Ratan Shukla, Ranadeb Bose and Manoj Tiwary, signed and wrote their parting messages for Ganguly who will pad up for one last time in international cricket in the final Test against Australia starting at Nagpur on Thursday.

Earlier, the tableau went to schools and city hot spots where people from all walks of life sent their messages for Ganguly.

Quiz contests on the former India skipper's international career spanning 12 years were also organised.
