The Central Information Commission has asked the Prime Minister's Office to re-examine an RTI plea seeking information on Prime Minister's National Relief Fund.
Using the Right to Information Act to know his examination marks proved costly for an 18-year-old student of a government school when he was allegedly brutally beaten up by his teacher in Dilshad Garden area of north-east Delhi.
The Centre's decision of not disclosing file notings under the Right to Information Act has drawn flak from the Central Information Commission, which held that this amounted to violation of the transparency law.
The Centre has said that constitutional functionaries do not come within the ambit of RTI Act and that Information Commission cannot direct the government to reveal information pertaining to their functioning.
